Bucks make 579 three-pointers at home, donate 579 trees to Wisconsin schools

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The American Transmission Company (ATC) and the Milwaukee Bucks are donating 579 trees to schools across Wisconsin as the Bucks made 579 three-pointers at Fiserv Forum this season.

This is part of the “Trees for Threes” program. It calls for ATC to donate one tree for every three the Bucks make at home during the regular season.

“This is the sixth year we’ve been doing this,” Milwaukee Bucks Chief Marketing Officer Dustin Godsey said.

Tuesday, the Milwaukee Bucks along with American Transmission Company planted three of those trees at the Milwaukee Academy of Science. A class of second graders along with Bango the mascot planted them near the school’s front entrance.

“What we hope is that it really inspires them to see that people are willing to invest in them. Not only invest in their education but their schools,” Gregory Levesque with ATC said.

The Milwaukee Academy of Science had Crab Apple Trees planted, but any school can choose the type of tree they want.

“This is something that they’ll remember as these trees are growing and flourishing, so will they, so it’s a great memory for them,” Milwaukee Academy Of Science CEO Anthony McHenry said.’
