ASHWAUBENON — Beautiful Waheed’s pre-game warmup shirt said it all in terms of the mentality of the Milwaukee School of Academy program entering Thursday’s Division 3 state semifinal meeting with top seed Waupun (20-8), the defending D3 champions.
“Never give up,” the shirt exclaimed, with a photo of Michael Riley, the father of head coach Giovanni Riley and a former assistant under his son, before his passing this past November.
